Step-by-Step Tutorial: Dogecoin Mining on Computer

Published on

According to www.unmaintainable.com, here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to mine Dogecoin (DOGE) on your desktop computer for free in 2023. You will need the latest updated software for Windows or Mac.

First, visit the official website and go to the “Download” section. There are two software options available – a green button and a white button. If this is your first time installing mining software, use the green button to download the zip archive file. Save the file to your desired directory.

When downloading, you may receive a warning from your antivirus software due to mining software being often flagged as potentially harmful. To overcome this, download the file again and click on any pop-up notifications from Windows Security to enable the file.

After downloading, right-click on the zip archive file and extract the files to the same folder. You should now see the .exe file for the mining software. Click on the .exe file to start the program. If you encounter any errors or warnings, allow the program to run as it is safe.

Next, choose your mining hardware. If you have a graphics card like Nvidia or Radeon, select the GPU option for better mining output. If you only have a CPU, choose the CPU option.

The mining software will now ask you to select the coin or token you want to mine. Choose Dogecoin from the list provided.

To enter your address, you will need a Dogecoin wallet. If you don’t have one, go to www.dogecoin.com and follow the instructions to choose and download a wallet. Once you have a wallet, go to File, then Much Receiving Addresses to find your wallet address. Copy the address and paste it into the mining software where it asks for your address.

Now, click the start button to begin mining Dogecoin. The mined coins will be automatically deposited into your Dogecoin wallet.

For more detailed statistics, you can click on the “Stats” button. It is recommended to enable the setting for automatic deposits once you have earned $30 worth of Dogecoin.

The “Current Hash Rate” indicates how many equations your computer is solving for the Dogecoin network based on its processing power.

Remember, these steps can be applied to mine other coins as well.
