Grants for Meetups and Events on the Path to Devcon

Published on

Community organizers are the backbone of the Ethereum ecosystem. They lead events, meetups, hackathons, and seminars, keeping the community connected. Without them, we would be lost in the analog world. However, relying on chance encounters or laptops stickers to find like-minded individuals is not always fun.

While major events generate a lot of excitement, not everyone can travel long distances to attend conferences. Smaller events are equally important in creating an inclusive and accessible Ethereum community. With an internet connection and a laptop, anyone can participate in virtual meetups or join online hackathon teams. There are numerous opportunities available at any given time.

To support the organization of meetups and small events, the Devcon team is collaborating with ESP to offer grants ranging from $500 to $1500. If you need financial assistance to cover event-related expenses or if you have been holding back on organizing something special due to limited resources, we’re here to help. Even if your event doesn’t have associated costs but you’re facing other obstacles, feel free to reach out to us, and we’ll do our best to assist you.

To be eligible for a grant, your event should meet the following criteria:

  • Ethereum focused
  • Free to attend
  • Open to anyone
  • If held in person, compliant with all local COVID-19 restrictions and guidance
  • Not focused on investment, price, or token sales
  • Events that have already taken place are not eligible

We welcome organizers from all backgrounds and locations. Whether you require financial support or not, any event that meets the criteria can participate. Simply submit the form to be listed on devcon.org and receive a special “Road to Devcon” badge for your website.

For more details and the submission form, please visit our website.

This grant round is specifically aimed at small events with minimal costs. It has a streamlined application process. If your event doesn’t fit the criteria or you’re seeking larger sponsorships, you can always submit an inquiry to ESP. 🦄
