Are you passionate about solving challenging problems? Are you interested in becoming involved at the core level of the Ethereum protocol?
The Ethereum Protocol Fellowship (EPF) is now accepting applications for its third cohort. The Protocol Support Team (EF) is excited to offer this opportunity to qualified individuals who are committed to contributing to the development of a powerful and robust Ethereum network.
With the Merge approaching, Ethereum core developers are eagerly preparing for the next stage of the protocol’s development. As a result, there is a need for dedicated individuals to assist in creating a stronger Ethereum network.
Introducing the Ethereum Protocol Fellowship.
What is the Ethereum Protocol Fellowship (EPF)?
EPF is a program designed to educate developers about the process of protocol development. It provides participants with an opportunity to delve deep into the protocol while collaborating with others on a similar learning journey, as well as the core development community.
Core protocol development is not an easy task, but it is intellectually stimulating, challenging, and rewarding. Unfortunately, it also presents significant barriers to entry, including fluency in protocols, understanding of engineering concepts, and strong communication skills. The EPF aims to provide a smoother onramp to overcome these barriers and offer initial support and guidance for working alongside core developers.
EPF has previously hosted two successful cohorts. During this time, participants:
Worked on an alternate method of documenting and specifying the Ethereum protocol.Researched how we can modify or remove the SELFDESTRUCT opcodeHelped build ZKSyncBuilt out new peer-to-peer networks for the Portal Network.Wrote their own implementation of the EVM10 cohort alumni now work full-time on core protocol development and 5 others work in adjacent areas of the industry.
Have a Real Impact
Core protocol development plays a crucial role in enhancing and refining the multi-billion dollar Ethereum protocol, which we believe will contribute to a more equitable future. Would you like to join us in building an inspiring future?
